Chromebook Updates and Reminders

Chromebooks For All!
Posted on 09/12/2019
We have a new TSS at Innes! His name is Paul Wolfe and he has a new location at Innes as well, Room 102. He will be with us on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays all day as well as Friday mornings. We would like to welcome Mr. Wolfe and can't wait to hear his new ideas for chromebooks and technology in the building. Mr. Wolfe will set up a station on the stage during student lunches and students will be able to go visit him for any Chromebook related needs. This is where they will also be assigned a loaner when their Chromebook is awaiting repair. As a reminder, here are the District fees for damages and broken/lost chromebooks:

CHROMEBOOK DAMAGE/LOSS FINE STRUCTURE

1. The District’s goal is to provide every student a device to use at home to extend learning. Principals

will be actively involved with students and their parents/guardians to develop a plan to meet that goal whenever possible as well as protect the District’s limited resources. 2. Fines assessed are based on the cost of the item when purchased. 3. If a fine is not paid by the family, it will be assessed on the student record.

Incident Action

1st Incident Student will be issued a loaner until Chromebook is repaired and returned

to student. Loaner will be placed in the student’s original bag/case.

If the damage appears accidental, a fine will not be assessed. If the damage appears intentional, disciplinary action will be taken. The principal will discuss with the parent/guardian a specific course of action which could result in an immediate fine (see fine schedule).

2nd Incident Student will be issued a loaner until Chromebook is repaired and returned

to student. Loaner will be placed in the student’s original bag/case.

A fine will be assessed for the second incident (see fine schedule). If the damage appears intentional, disciplinary action will be taken. The principal will schedule a parent conference outlining a plan with the student to prevent future incidents of loss/damage to the Chromebook.

3rd Incident Student will be issued a Chromebook to be left at school and signed

in/out each day.

A fine will be assessed for the third incident (see fine schedule). If the damage appears intentional, elevated disciplinary action will be taken. The principal will schedule a parent conference outlining a plan with the student to prevent future incidents of loss/damage to the Chromebook.
